Sony will release a cheaper stand-alone Blu-ray player this summer. The model will be called BDP-S300 and it’ll be around $400 cheaper than the first Blu-ray player from Sony. The least expensive HD DVD player at the moment costs $499, and it’s the Toshiba HD-A2. But since you can get a Playstation 3 for around $600 I still think the price is way too high.
